A lot of thoughts and opinions are available today suggesting the best networking sites out there and without question, some are more effective then others. Anyone truly networking knows it can achieve positive results if engaged in properly.

With today's technology giving us new options, choosing the most effective networking method may become overwhelming. Once deciding that on-line networking is a good option and after the networking site that best fits has been chosen, most may think, great lets get started. WAIT! We are now being told that we may no longer be capable of doing our own networking (what?); you should hire that specialists or consultant and make sure to purchase this software or subscribe to that new social media monitoring site.

Who hasn't encountered those practicing one-sided networking and is this an example; Today we may also encounter the insight of those who feel it is important for us to know what they had for breakfast, how is one to keep up? When engaging in any type of networking it is essential to remain focused on the original intent, keep in mind it should be a give and take relationship and always try to offer something relevant. With today's on-line networking it is also necessary to remember this is no longer a one-on-one conversation, everything you post is public and available for anyone to view. This appears obvious I know, but consider some of the postings you read and ask how, if at all, do they relate to the topic or group.

Back to the original thought; if you use a "Social Media Monitoring Tool" to do your networking, are we still within the Genuine Spirit, or have we crossed over to Interactive Advertising?
